Stomping Hearts

We started dating in Jan of 86. It was a cold winter and we got tons of snow that year. We got to know each other by driving around the lakes in So Mpls. On one date in early Mar we were out playing in the snow on the south end of Lake Harriet at about twilite. It was one of those gorgeous 'blue' evenings. It was softly snowing but snowing densely enough that it deadened sound and everything just seemed really muted. We were the only ones on that end of the lake so it felt as if we had the whole world to ourselves.

We fell in love pretty fast (met and got married in less than 7 months) and by that time we were already pretty nutz for each other. Anyway, we were playing in the snow and he started to run away from me in a circle, or I thought it was a circle, but he ended up making a BIG heart. I helped finish the last few feet and ended up getting my boots FULL of snow as the snow was very deep and my boots were low. It was a sweet thing for me as I had never been romanced before. That certainly wasn't his first romantic gesture but it said a lot about him as it was kind of a public gesture. :) .....Ain't love grand....
